Throughout the years Berkel Company continues to manufacture quality meat slicers the way that Van Berkel first did. There are other meat slicers on the market today, however none carry the quality as those bearing the Berkel name. Today Berkel slicers are offered in a wide range of sizes for various slicer applications. Whether you slice your own meats and cheeses at home, have a small deli, small meat market, restaurant, supermarket, catering kitchen, commissary, hotel, or institutional use, there is a Berkel meat slicer that is right for you. Please see the various model meat slicers offered on our site. Our Berkel meat slicers are available with blades ranging in size from 9” to 14.5” and motors ranging in size from ¼ hp to ½ hp.
Berkel has also expanded upon its line of meat slicers to include other processing machines such as meat tenderizers, dough mixers, vacuum packaging machines (and vacuum bags andvacuum pouches accessories,) meat grinders, sausage grinders, cheese cutters, bread slicers, and food processors. Many people know the name Hobart when it comes to dough mixers, and now that Berkel Company and Hobart are sister companies, Berkel dough mixers share the same specifications and quality as their sibling dough mixers.
Berkel slicers are all belt driven and therefore much less expensive to fix over time should any repair become necessary in the long term. Other slicers are gear driven and wear out their gears quickly. Gears can be very costly to replace. Berkel meat slicer knife belts are always available here at talisequipment.com and most can be put on the machine by the end user. Also, sharpening stones are available at any time for any size Berkel meat slicer. The best way to maintain your meat slicer is to keep the blade sharp. With a sharp blade, you will obtain greater consistency with your slices, less waste, and more importantly minimize the amount of pressure put on the motor. And when your blade gets to the point where it cannot be sharpened any more with improved results, we have replacement blades available as well. It is also a good idea to keep on hand some Berkel Food Machine oil. This food machine oil is authorized by USDA for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants as a lubricant. Just apply liberally to the two slide rails on your machine (one rail for the meat table arm and one rail for the meat pusher assembly) for optimum performance and ease of use of your meat slicer. Also apply to the moving parts of your sharpener assembly which comes with your Berkel meat slicer. These simple procedure will prolong the life of your electric meat slicer, cheese slicer, bread slicer or any other fine electric slicer we offer. We offer Berkel Food Machine oil in 16oz bottles and gallon jugs. You may also want to consider Berkel Food Machine grease to lubricate the square rail underneath your meat slicer. This rail provides proper positioning of the meat table on your meat slicer and must be lubricated with grease. Berkel Food Machine grease is also authorized to be used by USDA in meat and poultry plants and complies fully with F.D.A. 21CFR178.3570.
