Retail scales or label printing scales are typically used in retail applications like supermarkets, delis, meat markets, fish markets, spice markets, etc., but can also be used in countless other applications non food related. Our Averyberkel retail scales are able to weigh and print labels on thermal label stock. Because the scales use thermal printing technology, the printed labels do not smear. No ink and no ink cartridges! Some of our higher end retail scales can even print logos or other graphics. Averyberkel retail scales are also capable of meeting new COOL labeling requirements. COOL, or Country of Origin Labeling, began a 6 month implementation period on October 1, 2008, and will be required for all Meat, Seafood, and Produce labeling. Our retail scales are ready with this capability now! Don’t get caught investing in a new retail scale without this capability. The IX series scales come with computer software for ease of programming and label editing, and the IM and M series use an optional software that is even more powerful. The IX series scales are networked via serial cables, while the IM and M series retail scales use ethernet connections for faster downloads and uploads. Also, when the IM or M series retail scales are connected to a computer that is online with a high speed internet connection, the retail scales can be accessed remotely by your IT personnel, your managers, or even our tech support if it’s needed.
